In impulse response measurement, the TSP (Time Stretched Pulse) signal is emitted and measured, and the received signal is converted to an impulse response in order to obtain an impulse response with better S/N ratio. In this conversion process, the signal is converted to a unitless level, which cannot be represented in SPL.
